Angelina Jolie has opened up about her isolated life in Hollywood on several occasions recently – and she has once again revealed more about her feelings of loneliness in a new interview with The Sun.

The 49-year-old Oscar-winning actress spoke about how she really identifies with the late Maria Callas, the iconic opera singer who she is portraying in the highly-anticipated biopic, Maria.

The Maleficent actress has already received a 'Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture Drama' Golden Globe nomination for her depiction of the opera singer, and is a hot favorite for an Oscar nomination too. And perhaps identifying with Callas' loneliness is one of the reasons why Jolie excelled at the portrayal.

"I have my children I love, but as an adult I'm often alone," Jolie told the pub, in reference to her six children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Angelina Jolie Says She Identified With The 'Solitude And Loneliness' Maria Callas Had

"I find myself identifying with the solitude and loneliness she had," the Eternals actress continued, before going on to say that she never really felt settled since being on her own. We assume she is referring to her life after splitting from Brad Pitt in 2016, who she is still embroiled in a messy court battle with almost ten years later.

"I also haven't quite figured out how to live life in a way where I'm on my own," the Without Blood director and producer continued, adding: "Maybe a lot of artists feel that we're in an open space as people. We don't quite settle, so it leaves us in a strange way sometimes."
