"I read it on my own and then we looked at some of it together and we talked about why she loved it," Jolie explained to ET. "Then, I inquired if it was being made -- as you do -- into a film, and I found out that it was kinda in the works but kinda hadn't [been] figured out."
In a twist of fate, Jolie took on the role of producer and was also casted as the voice of an elephant named Stella in the Disney movie adaptation of the book. “The One and Only Ivan” was widely released to audiences on Disney+ just last week on August 21.
Offscreen, Jolie spends time at home with her six kids. Jolie was recently reunited with her oldest son Maddox after his South Korean college campus was on lockdown due to the coronavirus.
In an interview with Extra, Jolie said 19-year-old Maddox is now studying online at home in the company of the rest of his siblings-- Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 11.
“They’re all together and it’s a nice big bunch, so everybody’s helping each other out. We’re lucky,” Jolie shared with Extra. How sweet is that?!
