Over the past few years, the majority of Brad Pitt‘s six children with his former spouse, Angelina Jolie, have seemingly declared their allegiance to their mother. Last week, an insider revealed exclusively to In Touch that the Bullet Train actor, 60, is now trembling with anxiety at the thought that they might intensify his distress by participating in a “tell-all” interview.
The source dished: “This is a dark cloud hanging over Brad’s head. He can muzzle Angelina with his lawyers, but he can’t muzzle his own kids.” They went on: “They’ve stayed totally quiet so far, but at some point down the line it’s very plausible that they’re going to want to tell their side of the story. There’s nothing to stop them from doing it.”
Brad Pitt Reportedly Fears A 'Tell-All' Interview As Angelina Jolie Faces 'Parental Alienator' Accusations
Pitt and the Eternals actress, 49, share six children: son Maddox, 22, son Pax, 20, daughter Zahara, 19, daughter Shiloh, 18, and 15-year-old twins, son Knox and daughter Vivienne, 15. The source also told the publication: "When [the children] decide to go ahead and talk, Brad will just have to sit back and take it."
The tipster stressed that Jolie has been "very clear" about not "trying to encourage" this. She also reportedly "insists" that Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne "made their own minds up" when it came to removing the "Pitt" last name from their monikers and choosing "Jolie" instead.
The source continued: "If these kids eventually do want to turn around and get the ultimate closure by laying it all out in the open and telling the world what they’ve been through, it’s going to be Brad’s worst nightmare and no doubt will be the ultimate humiliation for him."
They added, regarding the Moneyball star: "He’s in a very tough spot because it’s not like he can even try and talk to them about it because that could only make things worse. So all he can do is wait for the hammer to drop and try to put it out of his mind."
Last month, rumors on X (formerly Twitter) and other social media sites were swirling around about the Girl, Interrupted alum's alleged use of “textbook alienation” tactics against her ex-husband. She was deemed a "parental alienator" and also accused of "brainwashing" her and Pitt's children.
In 2016, many fans were left stunned when formerly dubbed power couple "Brangelina" decided to call it quits on their 12-year-long romance, a mere two years after they tied the knot.
Over the course of eight years since the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider star's marriage with the World War Z actor fell apart, the Daily Mail has consistently reported on Pitt's attempts to "reconnect" with his children after the alleged 2016 "abusive" altercation that occurred during a private jet ride.
The tabloid claims that through multiple conversations with friends of Pitt, it "can be said with certainty" that the Fight Club alum has made countless efforts to repair the damage caused by his past actions, but none have "worked."
Pitt has been entangled in lengthy custody battles that have resulted in temporary victories. However, his 2021 win of 50-50 custody was short-lived as it was overturned on appeal.
A judge also memorably intervened to ensure that Jolie refrains from eavesdropping on his phone calls with their children. Additionally, Pitt has been directed to participate in "reunification therapy" with all six of their offspring.
In a 2016 Instagram post, Brangelina's son Pax wrote that the youngest kids "tremble with fear in [Brad's] presence." It was implied that the two eldest outright refused to see their father at that point.
According to the publication, it appears that all six have banded together tightly with Pitt's second ex-wife, creating quite the formidable crew. Last year, Jolie said her kids were the "closest people to me in my life." She added, telling WSJ Magazine: "We had to heal. There are things we needed to heal from."
Although daughters Vivienne, Shiloh, and their other siblings have recently accompanied their renowned actress mother on numerous red carpet events, they have never done this with Pitt.
The Daily Mail reported earlier this spring that one source revealed: "This is the result of textbook parental alienation, and it is a great sadness in his life."
They added: "There have been years and years of her [Angelina] telling and retelling the same lies about him and the reality is that she has alienated the kids, and the reality is that it is upsetting to Brad. He cares about all of them. It is devastating."
