Anne Hathaway’s appearance at the launch of the Bulgari Mediterranea High Jewelry collection, which took place at Venice’s Palazzo Ducale, is making fans talk for so many reasons! The 40-year-old Eileen actress looked incredible at the event which she attended alongside fellow Bulgari ambassadors Zendaya and Priyanka Chopra, who looked just as jaw-dropping with their ensembles and Bulgari jewels.
The She Came To Me star looked utterly breathtaking in a silver and gold Atelier Versace gown with a detachable hood, which was designed by Donatella Versace herself, which naturally led fans to flock to social media to rave about her look. However, among the thousands of compliments were some concerned comments, as a few fans were worried about her seemingly ever-shrinking frame.
Fans Show Concern For Anne Hathaway's 'Thin' Frame On The Red Carpet
One fan seemed to think she looked unrecognizable at the event, asking: "Is this Anne Hathaway?" Many others couldn’t help but comment on her "thin" frame, with one saying, "God she’s so thin," and another assuming her extremely small frame is down to her taking controversial weight loss drug, Ozempic, writing, "Oh she’s taking Ozempic." Another went one step further, asking: "Why does she look like a corpse is she sick?" Yikes!
Anne Hathaway Previously Opened Up About Losing Weight
The Ocean's 8 actress has always had a slender frame, but she famously purposely lost 25 pounds in just two weeks for her Oscar-winning role as Fantine in the 2012 movie, Les Misérables. However, she recalled that the diet made her *so* unwell, and she couldn’t even fully enjoy her Oscar-win because of it!
"That weight loss was not a long-term good thing for my health, and it took a really long time to come back from it," she confessed on PeopleTV's The Jess Cagle Interview. "In order to do the transformation to play Fantine, I'd lost a lot of weight in about two weeks. I lost an unhealthy amount of weight in a short amount of time, and I was still really sick because of it," she continued, adding: "I'd just turned 30, I'd just gotten married... Even the most positive things can be upheavals to your identity. So to just have this moment and not really know who I was in the moment, where you just feel like you're on display, it wasn't a comfortable feeling."
In 2012, she told Vogue that she followed a strict diet consisting of tiny portions of dried oatmeal paste for her Fantine transformation, saying: "I had to be obsessive about it – the idea was to look near death." She also told the fashion bible at the time: "Looking back on the whole experience – and I don't judge it in any way – it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that's who Fantine is anyway." She added: "I was in such a state of deprivation – physical and emotional. When I got home, I couldn't react to the chaos of the world without being overwhelmed... It took me weeks till I felt like myself again."
