Following a high-protein diet has been shown to boost metabolism by up to 80 to 100 calories a day. Eggs have both protein plus iron and amino acids that help your body better synthesize the protein.
The biggest and best portion of protein is found in the yolk. That’s where the metabolism helpers can be found: fat-soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids.
Keep your eggs healthy by adding veggies, whole grain toast and limiting the butter or oil for frying. Try eggs hard-boiled, baked or as a frittata.
