Facebook, we have to break it to you — you’re fun and all, but you are a battery hog.
It’s true — Facebook is one of the worst apps for draining your battery. The app is constantly streaming videos, while updating to accommodate hundreds of posts and images. If you have zero intention of deleting the Facebook app, something that will automatically gain you back plenty of battery power, the next best thing would be to make adjustments to some of your Facebook settings.
It seems the iPhone 12 will be sold without a few accessories that Apple customers have come to rely upon. The new phone will not include a power charger or wired earbuds — but Apple’s reasoning is because these items aren’t great for the environment,
Like many apps, Facebook tracks your location. There are plenty of reasons why this might creep you out, but concerns about battery are also up there. You can turn off Location Services and Background App Refresh for the Facebook app, or choose to only have locations enabled when you are using the app.
Apple predicts that eliminating the production of these accessories, as well as the packaging they come in, will help the brand achieve its environmental goals by reducing 2 million metric tons of carbon annually — which is synonymous with 450,000 fewer cars on the road.
