Do you ever feel like your phone’s battery is dying faster than usual? If so, you are not alone. Everyone knows that the more we use our phones, the faster they die. But what most people don’t realize is that the way you use your phone may cause it to die sooner than it actually should. Sometimes all you need to do to make your phone’s charge last longer is to change a few habits.

Our phones are an essential tool to every day lives. We access our emails, talk to friends and stay in touch with family, all through our smart phones. Plus, most of us rely on lifestyle apps to keep up with daily tasks from household chores like cooking and cleaning to work tasks.

But what if one of these apps was causing your phone to die much sooner than iy should?

You can use your iPhone's settings app to determine how much battery each app is using. Just navigate to Settings > Battery and scroll down. You'll find that some of the apps you use most, like texts and email typically only use 2% to 5% of your phone's battery, while a non-Apple web browser can use up much, much more.

Most people tend to use Google Chrome as a web browser, even though Apple's Safari comes pre-loaded onto your iPhone. Chrome is very convenient as it saves your history and passwords across all devices. But this convenience comes at a cost to your battery.

If you have the Google Chrome app on your iPhone, it's probably using at least 10% of the battery while just on in the background, even more if you use it for casual web browsing.

If you can do without Chrome, delete it from your phone and only use it on your computer. This can save you a ton of battery life. If you prefer to keep Chrome on your phone, just remember to close out the app every time you finish with it so it doesn't use too much power in the background.
