Apple has officially implemented an extended return window for the holiday season; you and your loved ones will be able to return products—whether they were gifts or not—until January 8, 2024.

The holidays can be stressful for so many reasons: Travel, family tensions, and, of course, all of the gift shopping. For example, what if you give someone a gift they don’t love? Luckily, many brands and stores extend their return windows into January so that people have ample time to return gifts they don’t love. This is the case with Apple. Find all of the details below.

Apple's extended holiday return policy

If you're ahead of the game (or perhaps right on time), you may already be stocking up on holiday gifts for all of your loved ones. However, since Christmas is still weeks away and many typical return policies range from two weeks to a month, this could make it difficult for some people to return gifts they're not obsessed with. The deadline to make a return could pass before the gift is even received. But that's where holiday return windows come in handy.

Apple's standard return window, for example is 14 days. But their extended policy will allow everyone to return all of those unwanted AirPods, iPads, and more up until January 8—as long as they were purchased between November 3 and December 25. Amazing!

It should be noted that there are a few exceptions to this policy. While almost every Apple product is eligible, the policy doesn't apply to digital software downloads or Apple Gift Cards. Additionally, some phones bought with wireless carrier financing plans are not applicable.

Finally, remember that all of the terms and conditions of the standard return policy still apply.

So, whether you made an impulsive Black Friday purchase on an iPad you'll never use or you're gifted an extra pair of AirPods that you don't have a need for, you'll have ample time to make a return and get your money back this year. Happy holidays!
