When your iPhone runs slowly, one of the first (and easiest) solutions may just be to have a good look at the apps you are using. Some may be using up a ton of space — which contributes to a sluggish iPhone. And other apps that haven’t been updated, or that are old and are no longer being updated, can wreak havoc on your phone’s ability to work at an efficient speed.
These are the four apps Apple employees say make your phone run SO slowly and you should delete RIGHT NOW.
No two iPhones are going to run slowly for the same exact reason. Depending on your app-purchasing habits (among other factors), your phone will have different needs than your sister’s or friend’s device.
To find out which apps are taking up the most space on your iPhone, go to Settings — About — Applications. If you have iOS 10.2 or older, you’ll be able to view the space taken up by applications, but if you have iOS 10.3 or higher, tapping ‘Applications” and going to the App Compatibility screen will provide a run-down of specific apps taking up space.
According to Fireebok, there are 10 apps that tend to slow down iPhones — and WhatsApp is one offender.
Spotify and Streaming Apps
Any and all apps that stream music or videos are going to slow down your phone. If you are saving songs so that you can listen to them offline, this will also take up a ton of space.
Google Maps and Navigation Apps
It’s difficult to imagine a time when we didn’t have navigation apps to help get us from Point A to Point B. Unfortunately, these apps generate a lot of cache files (which you can clean out in settings) and suck up battery power (it’s a good idea to charge your phone while using them).
Facebook (and Twitter and Instagram) are a favorite way to pass time. But they also tend to take up a lot of storage space and data. If you’re not interested in deleting the Facebook app and using it via your browser, try searching for an upgraded version of the app and deleting the old one, which may make your phone run faster.
