3 ‘Useless’ Apps That Are Taking Up Storage And Slowing Your iPhone Down, Tech Experts Warn

No offense to all of the many great apps out there, but some can seem pretty useless sometimes. Even a social media app that you love, for example, can start to feel redundant and unnecessary when you realize there are three more that share significant things in common with it. At the end of the day, deriving a little bit of pleasure from that app may not prove to be worth the battery drainage and storage issues you experience because of it. 

Tech Expert Axel Hernborg, the CEO of Tripplo, says that to optimize your iPhone’s performance, you can identify and eliminate unnecessary apps. This doesn’t mean you have to get rid of the apps you really love (Pinterest can stay put), but picking and choosing a few to keep and a few to let go of can make a significant difference in how your phone operates. Do your phone a favor by starting to consider these three “useless” apps that can significantly slow down your phone and take up storage space. 

Some pre-installed apps, like your camera of course, are game changers. Others, like compass or stocks, may be sitting on your phone completely untouched. 

“Although they may not be relevant to your needs, they still occupy valuable storage,” Hernborg says of these pre-installed apps. “To address this, you can disable or delete these apps in the settings to free up space.”
