Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez, her boyfriend of less than a year, announced their engagement to Instagram on December 20, and were met with an onslaught of excited comments congratulating the happy couple. But as another whirlwind romance following her previous engagement to comedian Pete Davidson, sources say that Grande’s friends fear the engagement may have been rushed.
The couple spent the year quarantined together where they were able to foster a relationship outside of the public eye which is how they were able to connect so deeply in such a short window of time. However, a source admits that the pair are, “very in love now, but friends think the engagement was somewhat rushed and are skeptical that the relationship will ultimately be short lived.”
Grande and Gomez have been nearly inseparable since the beginning of 2020 when their romance first started, and People reported that Grande even moved from New York City to LA in order to quarantine with Gomez once she realized “he is very special.” The 27-year-old singer recently posted a loved up Instagram gallery, showing off the stunning engagement ring along with some other photos of the pair.
Back in 2018, Grande had a short-lived engagement to comedian Pete Davidson which spanned from June 2018 to October 2018. The pair decided to lock down their relationship after only a few weeks of seeing each other, but it seems like they have both happily moved on since.
Only time will tell whether Grande and Gomez are in it for the long term, but the pair look happy right now and that’s all you can really ask for after a year-long pandemic. Finding a partner is hard for anyone, and things are often magnified in the public eye, so hopefully this relationship can withstand the pressures of fame!
