Ariana Grande rocked a very different look when she attended the SAG-AFTRA Foundation screening of Wicked at the Robin Williams Center in New York City on Wednesday, December 4th.
While the “Yes, And?” singer has been wearing her finest Glinda-inspired pink outfits for the majority of the Wicked promo trail, she switched things up on this occasion and went for a chic black look, instead. Check out a pic here.
Ariana Grande Rocks Baggy Off-The-Shoulder Dress For 'Wicked' Screening In New York City
The 31-year-old Victorious alum wore an elegant and understated off-the-shoulder black gown from The Row's Resort 2025 collection for the event. The dress from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's luxury label seems to be a big hit with the A-listers and their stylists, as it has been worn on multiple red carpets, including by Pamela Anderson at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala. For her look, the "7 Rings" singer styled her dress with some simple black pointed toe heels and a matching black shawl. Her blonde hair was worn in a sleek updo and her makeup was kept minimal. Her jewelry was also on the minimal side, as she chose to forgo all jewelry save for a pair of sparkly Swarovski stud earrings.
Ariana Grande Gets Emotional Over Concerns About Her Dramatic Weight Loss
Believe it or not, Ariana's wardrobe 180 wasn't what garnered the most attention, as she has been grabbing headlines for her appearance for quite a while now. Fans expressed deep concern about her weight recently as they feared she was looking "too thin," with some reports even hinting that boyfriend Ethan Slater was also starting to get "concerned."
The "We Can't Be Friends" hitmaker got emotional when she was asked about the constant comments on her "scary thin" appearance during a recent appearance on the Oui Oui Baguette podcast in France. When she was asked how she "copes with beauty standards," she mentioned how she had been dealing with comments about her appearance since she was young, before explaining that it was "hard to protect yourself from that noise," calling it "uncomfortable and horrible."
She added: "I think that it's something that is uncomfortable no matter what scale you're experiencing it on. Even if you go to Thanksgiving dinner and someone's granny says, 'Oh my God, you look skinnier! What happened?' or 'You look heavier! What happened?'"
The "Positions" hitmaker went on to say that she thinks people are getting too comfortable with commenting on someone else's appearance, before saying that she ultimately thinks it's "dangerous." She said: "I think in today's society, there is a comfortability that we shouldn't have – at all – commenting on others' looks, appearance, what they think is going on behind the scenes or health or how they present themselves. From what you're wearing to your body to your face to your everything – there's a comfortability that people have commenting on that, that I think is really dangerous."
