Ariana Grande Reveals Chic New Wispy Curtain Bangs On Instagram While Promoting Her New Album
Earlier this year, Grande unexpectedly announced her seventh studio LP (to the delight of fans), marking her first musical release since the well-received Positions album topped the charts in 2020. As anticipation grew, she teased fans with sneak peeks by gradually revealing the titles of each track, building up the hype after releasing her new album's lead single, "Yes, And?" on January 12th.
Soon after this post, Grande sat down for a discussion about her new music with interviewer Zane Lowe at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt in New York City.
For the occasion, the style icon wore a sleek black minidress with intricate structured sleeve details. As for her glam, she wore her blonde locks and new fringe in a similar half-up, half-down style.
This week, the Wicked star also shared the new music video for her track "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)." In the visual, Grande can be seen (without her new bangs) while sporting shimmering, futuristic and glimmering makeup.
Last week, the "Thank U, Next" singer shared a snippet from this visual that featured her signing a consent form in a waiting room.
The form indicated that the signer had thought extensively about their decision and had granted "Brighter Days Inc." the exclusive permission to erase a particular person from their memory. Although Grande hesitated and nearly selected "No," she ultimately opted for "Yes" and signed as "Peaches."
Grande can also be seen waiting in a dark, sullen lobby before being called for her appointment with a doctor. Once called, Grande, retrieves a white box filled with memories and heads into a surgery arena, where she begins to lip-sync the heartfelt lyrics of the soft pop track while lying back on a chair.
The video pays tribute to Jim Carrey's love removal machine concept in 2004's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the sci-fi drama with a similar theme to the new album's title, which served as inspiration for Grande.
When sitting down with Apple Music 1 interviewer Lowe, 50, Grande said: "I think [Eternal Sunshine if the Spotless Mind] is so beloved because so many people can relate to knowing that something isn’t right but loving so much and wanting to stay."
Grande added: "I think it kind of fell into place that these songs had little tidbits of that theme. I just felt really inspired by it."
