Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande called it quits back in October 2018 after a five month engagement, and while both parties have since moved on, the truth behind their breakup was recently revealed. The couple, who were immediately infatuated with each other after meeting on the set of SNL, quickly became engaged, but while speculation arose that it was the death of Grande’s ex-boyfriend Mac Miller that ended the relationship, an Insider report on the singer’s manager, Scooter Braun, tells a different story.

With Davidson now dating Kim Kardashian and Grande married to real estate agent Dalton Gomez, the pair are happily moved on, but reports have revealed that it was the involvement of the 28-year-old’s management team in their relationship that called for its demise. Although it was reported that Braun was the person to introduce the pair, he was also allegedly a driving factor behind the release of the “Thank U, Next” music video following their breakup.
According to a source close to the former couple, Davidson was “blindsided” by the release of the video which features his name and a reference to his relationship history with Grande. “I think their relationship didn’t get a fair shake because management was so involved,” the source revealed.

While the song, “Thank U, Next” came after the breakup, it was allegedly the involvement of her management team throughout their romance that ultimately ended the pairing. However, Davidson did admit that the release of the song was difficult on him, particularly of Grande’s insinuations about him within the music video. “Here’s the thing about the breakup song. Usually breakup songs you know who it’s about but you don’t really know. That G named all of us. Bam. She named all of us. And then, tells us, yeah, he has a big dick,” Davidson revealed at the time.
Although the pair were once happily in love there seems to be no hard feelings between the two, with Davidson gallivanting around with new girlfriend Kim Kardashian and Grande enjoying newlywed life with her beau. However, according to a source for Us Weekly, “[Scooter Braun] definitely gets involved in his clients’ business and personal relationships.”
