I have fine, color-treated hair AND I use heat tools AND it’s almost December in New England, so naturally I’ve started to notice those dreaded flyaways and frizz that come around this time of year. And even though my beloved Beachwaver has a ceramic barrel which is less damaging than other irons, I still need all the help I can get when it comes to nourishing, smoothing products. This summer, the company launched a Keratin and Argan Oil serum called “Shine Bright” and I finally got a chance to put it to the test this week when the temperatures dropped below 40 and the winter dryness made herself known. OMG–I couldn’t believe the results from two tiny pumps. This is the product that I will be using every day this winter to attempt to keep my hair as silky as possible. Here’s everything you need to know:
Beachwaver Shine Bright Vegan Keratin + Argan Serum
Beachwaver is the company most known for their rotating barrel curling wands (ie., something every woman should own and a great gift idea, ahem!). You can cut your curling time in half they’re so easy to use, so yes they are worth the $149 price tag. The company has since released a line of haircare products to go hand in hand with the curlers, including a Keratin-rich vegan serum that infused with organic Argan Oil “to restore shine to your hair for a silky, frizz-free finish.” The Shine Bright serum is lightweight, can be used before or after heat styling and has 5/5 stars in customer reviews–including from me (full disclosure, the brand sent me a product to try for this review).

The formula includes the following ingredients:

- Vitamin E
Benefits

How To Use It
You can use it on damp or dry hair, before or after styling. I used the product on slightly damp hair. I pumped 2 drops into my palm, and then followed the instruction to "emulsify it in my hands," although the texture of the product didn't change much when I rubbed my hands together. I then worked it through my hair, mostly starting with the ends, but I definitely gave some love to the top of my hair almost by the root, aka in the peak flyaway zone.
My Honest Review
I loved the smell (subtle but yummy), texture (very lightweight and non-greasy), and most importantly how silky soft it made my hair. The website describes the scent as an "exotic blend of Australian sandalwood, Hawaiian island coconut and Tahitian vanilla," but that almost makes it sound like a tanning oil smell which it definitely is not. The bottle is perfect, it's a twist cap which makes it easy to open and close (and will be good for travel).
