How’s your beauty game doing these days? If you feel like things could be better and you aren’t sure what creams or makeup products you should be using because your skin texture has changed over the years or your old makeup isn’t doing your features any justice, it may be time to step up your game.

And, luckily, it’s easy to do.

Here are beauty products older women are using to look absolutely fabulous at age 70 and beyond.

Start With Great Skincare

It’s so important to follow a good skincare routine before you apply any makeup. That doesn’t mean you need to spend a ton of money or get overwhelmed. Start with three products: cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Cleanse your skin twice daily (and remove all makeup) and then follow up with a moisturizer and sunscreen during the day and just moisturizer at night. Once you get the hang of your routine, consider incorporating a nice essence or serum like hyaluronic acid that you can apply prior to moisturizer. This boosts your hydration levels even more.

Color Corrector

A great color corrector is one product that you should incorporate into your makeup routine if you have discoloration on your face that you want to correct, such as blue around the eyes. If you have redness in your face, use a green color corrector. A peach color correct is ideal for adding brightness and counteracting blue spots in the skin. Use a concealer brush to push the corrector into your skin and address any darkness under the eye or around the nose (or anywhere, really). You can work the color in with a foundation brush or your finger.

Add Concealer

Don’t worry about blending in your color correcting makeup perfectly — you’re going to go over everything with a concealer and BB or CC cream. Choose a concealer that matches your skin or is slightly lighter and add concealer on top of the areas that your color corrected. Because you aren’t forcing your concealer to do ALL the work, you may notice that your face looks noticeably brighter faster.

Don’t Forget Eye Primer

Never apply eye shadow directly over a naked lid — it needs priming as well! Your lid also has discoloration, so make sure you create a base with a primer. This primer also serves you well by making your eyeshadow colors pop more. Plus, it will help your shadow and liner stay on for longer without fading or streaking.

Curl Your Lashes & Apply Mascara From The Base

By now you may be well aware of how significant a difference it will make in your makeup routine to just curl your lashes. Always use a lash curler before mascara and then make sure you’re starting from the base of your lashes when you apply a volumizing mascara. This helps beef up lashes and gives you an overall more youthful look.

You don’t need a whole new vanity of makeup to upgrade your look. Small changes in how you apply your makeup and the products you incorporate (remember: color corrector is your friend) are game changers.
