As time passes, our lips and the skin around them tend to lose moisture naturally. Dermatologists and doctors often suggest adding serums to our skincare regimen as a remedy.

Recently, popular beauty influencer Paulina Choi shared a TikTok video that went viral, garnering millions of views and likes. In the video, she revealed a simple yet effective lip-plumping hack passed down from her mother.

Despite being “63 years old,” Choi said that her mother’s lips have remained healthy and “plump” for years thanks to a nifty trick that involves the use of hyaluronic acid serum.

Choi titled her new post, “My Korean Mom’s Beauty Secret For Dry Lips” and told her followers that she had “insider information” when it comes to promoting fuller, more supple lips at any age.

How To Make Lips Instantly Look Plumper With Hyaluronic Acid & A Lip Mask

"Never in my 24 years of life have I ever seen that woman with dry lips," the creator said regarding her mother. "She is 63, but her lips are not only huge but they're also plump. They didn't lose any volume. They're smooth and it's a beautiful blushed lip, naturally," Choi went on.

"Basically I told her I wanted to get lip filler and that I was going to show [the injector] a photo of her lips so that I can get mine to look  like hers because she's my muse," Choi continued. "After she verbally put me to shame, she taught me her secret, and I'm going to share it with you," the influencer said.

Choi explained that her mother applies hyaluronic acid serum to her skin and lips every morning and night. "She finishes up the rest of her routine and lets this absorb," Choi said while applying the serum to her lips and pointing to her mouth. "Then at the end, she puts on this," Choi added while holding up a jar of the CNP Laboratory Propolis Lipcerin ($13.80) via StyleKorean, a viral lip balm/ lip mask.

Choi then started applying the product to her pout. "She applies this all over her lips. This is the only lip balm that she has on her vanity," she added, regarding her mom. The formulation of the Lipcerin is enriched with propolis apples and Madecasosides, imparting a nourishing and moisturizing sensation akin to that of ampoule care. In addition, it also incorporates propolis and manuka honey, known for their potent hydrating properties and ability to enhance skin elasticity.

"When I asked why, [my mother] said two words: manuka honey. Manuka honey, or honey in general, is such a powerful anti-aging skincare ingredient because it hydrates and it helps with elasticity and obviously, the glow," Choi noted. She showed her progress from following the two-step lipcare routine for one month, telling viewers that the serum and Lipcerin used together helped combat her previously "dry, flaky lips."

"Once in the morning and once at night," she went on. "I have not touched a chapstick. There's no need for me to put on chapstick." The beauty mogul then said that she "tried this with a bajillion of my other lip balms," but these two products together " just work and feel the best."
