Bella Hadid Shows Off 20-lb Weight Loss After Telling Fans 'My Weight Fluctuates'

Bella Hadid has always had an enviable figure since her modeling career began in her teens. But just like the rest of us, her weight has gone up and down in this time, and she has reportedly lost around 20 lbs since her career began. The 26-year-old supermodel has actually been very candid about her weight fluctuations over the years – along with her other health journeys, from her battle with Lyme disease to her mental health struggles.

The famous nepo baby candidly told People back in 2016 that she went from 140 pounds to 120 pounds (with more recent pictures suggesting that she may have trimmed down even more since then!) before walking her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but confessed that her weight actually fluctuates, as does everyone’s. When early career photos are compared with newer ones, Bella’s 20-lb (and possibly more!) weight loss transformation is hard to ignore, although we think she looks great regardless of what the scales say!

Bella Hadid Addresses 20-Lb Weight Loss

In an interview with People magazine back in 2016, just one month before walking the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway, Bella addressed her fluctuating weight and said: "I have lost weight and gained weight. My weight fluctuates so much."

"I really didn’t mean to lose weight," she said, admitting at the time that she would actually have liked to have some of her curves back. "It’s not my fault," she continued, adding, "My weight fluctuates and so does everybody and I think that if people are gonna judge, that’s the worst you can possibly do because everybody is different."

How Did Bella Hadid Lose 20 Lbs?

Naturally the publication was keen to find out what Bella did to lose such a huge amount of weight, and she said: "I worked out so hard and everybody is like, 'Oh, she looks so skinny blah, blah, blah.' But I think that if you just stick to something you can really achieve so much."

So what was her daily routine like? "I’ve been eating hard protein every day, and working out for three hours every day," she confessed at the time. "It’s crazy but I think that you know if you set your mind to something I think you can succeed." She also said that she tries to maintain a healthy diet when traveling – which is easier said than done! – and added: "I like to eat healthy and not eat crazy plane food. I like to still make sure my diet is good and I stay hydrated and stuff. That’s basically all I do."

However, Bella said that not restricting yourself is also important, letting the pub in on a little secret. "I’m going to eat pasta right now," she confessed, adding, "If you want to have a piece of bread, go have a piece of bread." You don't need to tell us twice!
