Bella Hadid Updates Fans On Health Status After 5 Months Fighting Lyme Disease
The famous model took to Instagram this week to share an in-depth look at her last 5 months battling Lyme disease, which has been a constant chronic illness in her life. Along with images of Bella hooked up to IVs and hospital monitors, as well as with her dog and receiving hospital treatments, the post's caption detailed the struggles and also the lessons learned during the serious health battle.
"The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself," the caption began. "Thankful to my mommy for keeping all of my medical records, sticking by me, never leaving my side, protecting, supporting, but most of all, believing me through all of this. Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain. To be that sad and sick with the most blessings/privilege/opportunity/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever. one thing I want to express to you all is that 1: I am okay and you do not have to worry, and 2: I wouldn’t change anything for the world." Bella added thoughtfully, "If I had to go through all of this again, to get here, to this exact moment I’m in right now, with all of you, finally healthy, I would do it all again. It made me who I am today."

The catwalk queen also shared her advice to anyone going through a similar health difficulty. "The universe works in the most painful and beautiful ways but I need to say that if you are struggling- it will get better," she reassured the reader. "I promise. take a step away, stay strong, have faith in your path, walk in your truth and the clouds will start to clear up. I have so much gratitude for and perspective on life , this 100+ days of Lyme, chronic disease, co infection treatment, almost 15 years of invisible suffering, was all worth it if I’m able to, God willing, have a lifetime of spreading love from a full cup, and being able to truly be myself, For the first time ever."
She ended the emotional post by thanking her workplaces, supporters, agents, and healthcare providers for all of their understanding and care over the past several months. Her final words on the matter were, "I'll be back when I'm ready...I miss you all so much...I love you all so much."

Gigi Hadid Gave Emotional Update On Sister Bella's Condition Earlier This Month
In the last month, Gigi Hadid had also taken to Instagram to update followers on Bella's health status, considering her lack of public appearances in recent weeks. "Just wanna touch on this post from last week," Gigi wrote of an image she had recently shared of her and Bella backstage at a fashion show. "Bella just finished a long and intense treatment for Lyme disease. Didn't want some to take my post as a promise she'll be back for shows this next season…)." Her message continued, "I'm so proud of [Bella] and excited for her comeback whenever she feels ready," with glitter and smiling emojis.
In 2012, both Bella and her brother Anwar, along with their mother Yolanda—formerly of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills—were diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Symptoms, as noted by the Mayo Clinic, include fever, fatigue, joint aches, and swollen lymph nodes. In 2021, Bella gave us a glimpse into her life with the illness that was similar to her more recent post, showcasing several pictures of herself hooked up to an IV drip. "Living with a few chronic autoimmune disease = always finding time for my IVs," she captioned the snaps.
