"Any minor trauma to the body whether it’s physically or mentally can cause Lyme to flare up," Bella explained. "My jaw has been so inflamed, and would flare up/inflame randomly when I was/am overly stressed or over working. Some days it’s okay! And some days are difficult. But when my jaw/nerves started to hurt on an aggressive level; it just went 0-100. And now we’re here!"
"Moral of the story, I’m getting this tooth extracted tomorrow!" she added. "Going to heal that infection! I’ve never been so excited to go to the dentist…thank you for checking in on me, I see you all!! Wish me luck!!!"
Fan Comments
As expected, Bella got a lot of love from her fans when she posted her latest video. "We love you and sending healing energy your way," one fan wrote in the comments section. "Stay strong my love," commented another. "I am so sorry you had to go through that," another wrote, adding, "I wish you [a] safe, fast recovery."
"Sending you positive energy, Bella!" exclaimed another fan, followed by the red heart emoji. "Wow and she still looks prettier than me on my best day," gushed another, adding, "Get well soon, Bella." Many others thanked her for her honesty, with one fan writing, "Thank you for talking about Lyme openly. Please continue," followed by three red heart emojis. "I have Lyme too, thank you so much for using your platform to raise awareness," said another fan.
Bella Explains Her Lyme Disease In Another TikTok
Bella posted another video of herself telling fans about her Lyme disease in her own words. She kicks off the video by showing fans a close-up of the tooth that is giving her trouble, and then goes into detail about what living with Lyme disease can be like, and how the flare ups can really affect her appearance. "You can only wonder why my face changes," she wrote. "That’s why I hate looking in the mirror or taking pictures especially lately, truly wanting to throw up at the sight of myself constantly." Poor Bella!
As well as revealing that she often suffers from chronic exhaustion, dehydration, chronic depression and fatigue, as well as brain inflammation, migraines and weakness, the catwalk model also admitted that it's "hard" to keep up in her profession while she is feeling and looking "sick," and noted how she feels there's a real difference in her appearance when she is having a flare up and when she is "healthy." "If you look back at work pictures from the past eight years you can tell the difference between me when my Lyme flares up and me when I’m healthy," she confessed. "She’s a different girl. I feel so bad for her."
Bella also noted that she was making the TikTok video on a "decent day," as making the video on an off day wouldn’t be possible! "This is me on a decent day by the way," Bella told fans. "I would never be able to make one of these videos if I was at work having a flare up, or not feeling safe/calm in my environment as I am with my mom and horses the past four weeks. I tried my best so I could try to update you guys before the extraction." She then finished off by thanking fans for their support, including wanting to learn more about Lyme disease. "Thank you for watching this and knowing a little more about me that is a huge part of my everyday life. It means more to me than you even know and I feel closer to you guys now."
Bella Hadid's Previous TikTok About Her Tooth And Jaw Pain
This isn’t the first time Bella has opened up about her tooth and jaw pain. Back in February, Bella shared a TikTok video of herself eating tacos (wearing an all-white outfit no less… we are still in awe!) and explaining that she felt something was "not right" with her tooth and jaw.
"It just feels like there’s something not right happening in there," she said at the time, pointing to her mouth, adding that "something bad" was happening. "It feels like it’s in my jaw now. This pain, it’s been happening for a year now."
