Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were perhaps most famous fans of the Canadian tuxedo trend when they made pop culture history on the American Music Awards red carpet way back in 2001 (yes, it really *has* been that long) but fast forward 20 years, and it’s once again taking over!
What is the Canadian tuxedo trend you ask? It’s essentially a fancy way of saying double denim – but not to be confused with the Texas tuxedo trend, which usually involves wearing a tuxedo jacket with a pair of jeans. All the most stylish, trend-setting celebs from Bella Hadid to Kylie Jenner to Dua Lipa have tried their hand at wearing denim on denim over the past few months; and we are obsessed with every single A-list take on the trend! You didn’t think the 25-year-old model would be wearing an oversized shirt and a baggy pair of jeans, did you? Of course Bella has given us one of the sexiest takes on the Canadian tuxedo trend, opting for an ultra-mini denim skirt and a seductive strapless corset. She teamed her 90s-inspired look with some white knee-high socks and loafers; and we are totally obsessed! 90s nostalgia at its finest!

Perhaps the most interesting (so far!) take on the Canadian tuxedo trend is the one the 25-year-old billionaire treated fans to when visiting the UK. The Kylie Cosmetics founder is used to more provocative pieces, but her punky yet sexy look from the Marine Serre Spring 2023 collection was more bandage than bondage on this occasion, as she almost looked like a mummy wrapped in several different shades of denim fabric. She accessorized with matching denim boots, and even recycled some material to fashion a choker out of denim too, which came complete with the same charms and safety pins that adorned the rest of the dress. Are we crazy for loving this look as much as we do?!

No one ever said that the denim in the Canadian tuxedo trend had to be blue – and the 26-year-old “New Rules” singer just proved how powerful a camouflage double denim take on the trend can be. Dua’s denim co-ord featured an oversized camouflage shirt, and a matching super-mini cargo skirt, which came complete with a large strap which was tied around her hips. She made it even sexier by having some skin peek through the shirt – and the over-the-knee boots also contributed to the wow factor of the look!

The 38-year-old Good American founder showed that you can rep the Canadian tuxedo trend by wearing the least amount of fabric and showing the most amount of skin possible – and what shows more skin than a teeny tiny bikini?! We rest our case! We bow down to you, Khloé!
