Bella Hadid has never been one to shy away from posting a cheeky selfie to her Instagram. In fact, the model loves using the platform to share her sexy looks with fans and keep them in the loop on her latest projects with BTS pictures and videos.
Hadid took to Instagram this weekend to give fans a sneak peek at her fitting for the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and was met with some harsh comments from fans. Here’s what went down:
Hadid shared this sexy picture and can be seen wearing a matching black lingerie set and knee-high snakeskin boots for the 2018 show, which airs on Dec. 2.
In addition to treating fans to a behind-the-scenes look at one of her runway outfits, the model also took time to share her excitement about the show. "I can’t wait for you to see all of the beautiful outfits ... I’m so grateful to be a part of the show again, feeling happier and healthier than ever," she captioned the picture.
Seems innocent enough, right? Well, trolls quickly flooded the comments section to body shame the 22-year-old for her petite frame by calling it "disturbing."
One user wrote, "Skin and bone. That second page is quite frankly disturbing,"
Another commented, "I have nothing against being slim but this is unhealthy on so many levels. Shame on @victoriassecret for encouraging and promoting this totally unrealistic image. We must put an end to the concept of looks = value."
Another chimed in saying, "I think @bellahadid is gorgeous but she does look a bit boney in these photos and I worry how this will impact some women with body issues.”
Hadid let the comments calm down before she addressed the body shamers. She took an indirect approach and edited her original caption, which now features the following statement:
"All body types are different and react differently to a great workout routine and a healthy diet."
