Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner share joint physical and legal custody of their three children, Violet, 15, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, eight. And it seems like adding another person to their children’s lives has gone over as well as it could have.
Affleck’s new girlfriend, Ana de Armas, has apparently fit right into Ben and Jen’s co-parenting dynamic.
A source told ET, Affleck and Garner are "getting along so well and are often communicating because of their co-parenting dynamic."
Plus, Ana is understanding of their relationship as co-parents.
"Ana understands the situation and is close with their kids, gets along with them and loves them," the source added. "Ana and Ben spend a lot of time together when they are both in town."
An insider told Us Weekly that Garner is happy for the couple: "Although it’s sad in a way to see him move on and be so happy, she is ultimately happy that he is happy and in a good and healthy place with his life."
The source continued, "That’s what she ultimately wants for the father of her kids."
Their cordial relationship as co-parents was even stipulated in their divorce.
Back in 2015, when Ben and Jen filed for divorce, the two agreed to keep things civil between them, especially for the benefit of their children.
According to TMZ, at the time, Garner and Affleck agreed to court documents that stated: "Neither party shall make derogatory or insulting remarks about the other ... in the presence of or within hearing distance of any of the minor children. Each party is restrained from arguing, yelling, or using profanity directed at the other party in the presence or within hearing distance of any of the minor children."
Although that might be easier said than done, it seems like they have managed to put their problems to the side for their children.
The source added to Us Weekly that they "have worked hard to get in a good place with each other."
Luckily, that hard works seems to have paid off for the two of them, their children, and de Armas.
