Jennifer Lopez is undoubtedly one of the hardest working women in Hollywood; but she hasn’t always seen the success that she hopes for.

Her tour hasn’t sold as many tickets as expected, forcing her to cancel dates and even rebrand it as a greatest hits tour. And the less we say about the backlash she is receiving for her Prime Video film, This Is Me Now: A Love Story, the better. But why is the multi-hyphenate having such a hard time these days? If we are to believe one brand expert who spoke to the Daily Mail, it’s actually husband Ben Affleck‘s fault!

Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck's 'Mundane' Behavior And 'Arguments On The Sidewalk' Reportedly Aren't Good For Her Image

"The backlash against J-Lo has been brewing for a while," said Emily Austen, who is a director at the public relations agency Emerge. She mentioned that the Marry Me actress constantly being pictured arguing with the Gone Girl actor isn't the best for her image, which prior to getting together with Affleck was still somewhat mysterious.

"Over the last decade, despite her well-publicized love life, there was still an air of mystery around her, like a megastar," Austen said, adding that she is now "in the shadow of the beloved and long-suffering Jennifer Garner."

"Much of what we've seen from J-Lo has been mundane: car rides with Ben, arguments on the sidewalk, fast food takeaways. Often looking miserable," Austen added. "This has broken the fourth wall, one that we had all bought into. We didn't want her to be a regular person."

The 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show With Shakira Wasn't Good For J-Lo's Image Either

But the Tender Bar star shouldn't take all the blame, as the Delola founder's behavior at the Super Bowl Halftime show back in 2020, which she performed with Shakira, was apparently also very bad for her image.

Although the show was a huge hit at the time, the JLo Beauty mogul's attitude about performing with the iconic "Hips Don't Lie" singer wasn't well received in the Super Bowl documentary, Halftime, which was released in 2022.

"Her seemingly inflexible and complaining demeanor, having to share the stage with Shakira, was not well-articulated, making her appear unlikeable," Austen explained.
