Jennifer Lopez Files For Divorce From Ben Affleck
Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from Ben Affleck on August 20th, 2024, two years after their traditional wedding ceremony. Their official marriage date was July 16th in Las Vegas, but they celebrated with a big wedding with friends and family in Georgia in August. The 55-year-old filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024 as the date of separation. She filed for divorce herself without using a lawyer and is technically self-represented.
“She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken,” a source told People. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been,” they noted. Jennifer Lopez recently canceled her world tour, citing wanting to spend more time with family as the reason behind the cancellation.
A Forced Reunion?
Unstoppable, a film produced by Ben Affleck's company, Artists Equity, and starring his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6th. However, we're guessing that people will be tuning in more so to watch Bennifer's (awkward?) interaction on the red carpet.
And, to make things worse, according to DailyMail, producers on the film are "pushing the two to appear together" in order to "create buzz on the film." Other publications, however, namely PageSix are reporting that Affleck will skip the event, which makes sense given his history of disliking public appearances, so much so that he looks visibly miserable on most red carpets.
