Ben Affleck Reportedly Wants His Next Girlfriend To Be Sober Following His Own Problems With Addiction
An insider reportedly told the Daily Mail that the Argo actor is indeed ready to start dating again. And while he doesn't seem to have a specific type (unless his type is beautiful women, given his previous relationships with J-Lo, Jennifer Garner, and Ana de Armas to name just three of his exes) the one thing he absolutely will not compromise on is their sobriety.
Affleck's potential new girlfriend has to be sober, according to the Daily Mail's insider, due to his own problems with addiction that he has been quite open with in the past.
Ben Affleck Reportedly Doesn't Want To Put His 'Sobriety In Jeopardy'
"Ben hasn't given up on relationships and finally feels ready to move forward and start dating again," the insider shared, before going on to say that he wants to take things slow until the divorce is finalized.
Affleck first went to rehab back in 2001, and has seemingly stayed sober since last coming out of rehab in 2017. So, if he does meet someone new to go on some dates with, the insider said that they have to either be completely sober, or at the very least, be in recovery.
"These past two years have been tough for Ben," the source continued, adding: "And as he begins to heal, one thing is very clear: his recovery comes before anything. He is not going to put his sobriety in jeopardy."
Let's not forget that the JLo Beauty mogul was sober, so it makes sense that he is looking for another partner who doesn't drink.
The constant media coverage of the divorce hasn't been easy for the Batman v Superman actor, with many people fearing for his sobriety. However, the insider reassured everyone that he has *not* relapsed; and he intends to keep it that way!
"Ben tries to avoid reading the news but it did upset him that people thought he relapsed because he had not," the insider said. "Like every alcoholic, Ben just wakes up with one goal in mind. To stay sober for that day."
