Ben Affleck has finally address those Grammys memes—you know, the one of him looking miserable at the 2023 Grammys?—and he did it in the most hilarious way possible: in the form of a Super Bowl commercial. In a newly released Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial, Ben Affleck has cheekily cleared his name. Keep reading for more details.

Ben Affleck Addresses ‘Sad Affleck’ Memes In New Dunkin’ Super Bowl Commercial

Ever since the moment happened back in 2023, Ben Affleck has been catching heat from fans for seemingly always looking miserable when photographed at events or by paparazzi. Though his wife, Jennifer Lopez, cleared things up at the Golden Globes, assuring concerned fans that “He’s happy,” the father-of-three decided to speak for himself—in a Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial.

The ad begins with a shot of a tabloid with the “Sad Affleck” meme on the front cover, headlined “Boredest Man in the World.” The camera then pans to Affleck, who’s sipping on an iced coffee and saying, “Keep laughing. He’s bored. No. Steady. Always watching. I can do that. How hard can it be?”

The next scene shows Ben on the phone, most likely with Jennifer Lopez. "What's going on baby?" he says, hurriedly. "I had this crazy dream, you're going to laugh. I had come up with like some beats. And then you were like 'Maybe you should put that on the record.' I even had a persona like JLo or like BLo. That's the bad version obviously." He then asks if she would help him out, but is rejected.

The second half of the commercial shows different clips of Affleck trying to get his music heard—he wants to become a pop star (which is coincidentally the name of the ad). Charli D'Amelio, a famous TikToker and another face of Dunkin' makes a surprise appearance, too.

"Maybe you can show me how it looks like," Ben says to her, and D'Amelio pulls off an impressive dance move. "Yeah I can do that," he says, which Charli responds to with a concerned look as Affleck asks, "Who is TikTok?"

The Bottom Line

Finally, after lessons from Charli pan out, Affleck results to a motivational speech: "They tell you you're no good. You're a goofy, middle-aged, clumsy white guy with no rhythm and you can't sing on key. You're not coordinated. That means I can't be a popstar?"

"Underestimate Boston?" he says. "At your peril."

The commercial concludes with Ben taking a bite of a giant chocolate frosted donut, saying 'This is me now," which is a cheeky reference to Jennifer Lopez's upcoming album, "This Is Me... Now."

So, it's safe to say that Ben is poking fun at all the media attention he's been getting, and that he's not letting it get to him. And we safely assume that he's just an expressive guy!
