Classy And Simple Hairstyles For Aging Women
Long Hair
According to Davis, “Long hair can be worn beautifully at any age. With healthy hair, it doesn’t matter if your desire is to wear long locks or short pixie, it’s all about having the right shape for your face, features, and texture.”
He advises, “To maintain the right shape, getting trims regularly every five to six weeks is important. To draw eyes up and give the effect of a facelift, you can add softness and movement with precise framing and curtain bangs. This style with soft waves compliments the color and gives it a finished touch.”
Having long hair is “easy to manage” and “very sophisticated.” Davis says, “This style also has awesome versatility; you can pull it back into a ponytail and rock it with your curtain bangs while playing tennis or wear it with some waves for a dinner date.”
Pixie
Moreover, Davis believes that “pixies have long been known as the hairstyle for older women.” He shares, “After years of exposure to natural elements, color, styling with heat, or even just life, hair can lose its softness, shine, and strength. This is why many women choose to go shorter!”
However, Davis notes, “Going short doesn’t mean losing style or edge.” He adds, “Using the razor to tackle unwanted density and increase softness, this style has both boldness and beauty. To keep the look unique and modern, shape and contour to your profile by going shorter in the back and keeping a longer fringe. This brings gazes upward for an instant eye lift.”
The best part? This look is low-maintenance! Davis recommends adding a leave-in oil like Ultimate Reset Duo Serum by Shu Uemura for a natural look or blow dry for a polished and sleek style.
Bob
“The ultimate low maintenance style that never loses its appeal is a classy bob,” he concludes. “Finding the right length for each face shape and lifestyle is key because longer faces may need more framing and layers, while round faces require less.”
He continues, “Keep in mind: [Go slightly longer] if you want to be able to pull [your hair back] into a ponytail. For this style, a bit of undercutting in the back allows for easier manageability, creating a natural bend for easy wash and wear.”
Davis emphasizes that this is definitely worth a try. There are many ways you can wear this look: “with some curls for glamor, [with] messy beach waves for daily style, or [wear it] straight for professional finesse.” It’s so versatile and gorgeous!
