Baked apples emerge as a delightful and weight-loss-friendly dessert option, showcasing the harmonious blend of sweetness and health benefits. Rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants, baked apples offer a satisfyingly sweet experience without the need for excessive added sugars.

"Baked apples with a sprinkle of Ceylon cinnamon and a drizzle of pure honey or maple syrup make for a simple, delightful, and healthy dessert. Apples are a great source of fiber and antioxidants that can help with weight loss and satisfy a sweet craving. Cinnamon may aid in regulating blood sugar levels, which is beneficial for weight management. Pure honey or maple syrup, in small amounts, can provide a touch of natural sweetness along with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, further supporting weight loss goals," says Costa.

Chia Seed Pudding

These tiny seeds swell when soaked, creating a pudding-like consistency without the need for high-calorie thickeners. Packed with fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and protein, chia seeds contribute to a sense of fullness and can help curb unnecessary snacking.

Costa elaborates on the benefits of chia seed pudding as she says, "I often recommend chia seed pudding made with unsweetened soy milk, chia seeds, and pure vanilla powder, topped with sliced almonds and fresh berries. It is high in fiber, plant protein, antioxidants, and heart-healthy fats — key nutrients in a healthy diet and for weight management. It's also a great source of calcium for those avoiding dairy."

She also adds that "for those who prefer a coconut flavor, try making the pudding with unsweetened coconut milk instead." Noted!

70% Dark Chocolate-dipped Strawberries

Indulging in 70% dark chocolate-dipped strawberries can be a guilt-free pleasure for those navigating the path of weight loss. Strawberries, being naturally low in calories and high in fiber, complement the chocolatey decadence while providing essential vitamins and minerals.

"Another go-to recommendation is fresh strawberries dipped in melted 70% dark chocolate chips that are mixed with a bit of avocado oil. Strawberries are a great source of antioxidants, vitamin C, and fiber, promoting weight loss and overall health," says Costa.
