Beyoncé isn’t celebrating her milestone 40th birthday alone, as we feel like we’ve been right there celebrating with her over the past month. We may not be sailing around Europe on a luxurious yacht, but we are there in spirit, and that’s basically the same thing, right?

The Halo singer has always been there for her fans, telling them how much she appreciates them for their constant support. And the message she shared with her loyal supporters as she celebrated her 40th year on this earth might just be one of the most special and emotional ones of all time. Bey said that she cried tears of joy as she reflected on her life over the past four decades, while also explaining that she is looking forward to the exciting things the future will bring. We are almost certain that her fans wouldn’t have been able to fight back the tears after reading her emotional message…

“The more mature I become, the more I understand and the deeper my joy grows,” the music icon wrote in the open letter to her fans, which was posted on her official website. “There’s a freedom and liberation knowing that I’ve made it to the other side of my sacrifice. I’m finally giving myself permission to enjoy the seeds I’ve worked so hard to plant my whole life.”

The 28-time-Grammy-winner (who is deserving of every single one, may we add!) continued her letter by assuring her fans that she is not afraid of entering her forties, and confirmed that this is the "best" she has ever felt in her life. "I'm so grateful to be GROWN, GROWN!" Bey continued. "Whoever tried to condition women to feel that we are supposed to be old or unhappy when we turn 40 got it ALL THE WAY F’D UP. This has absolutely been the best I’ve felt in my life. This is the first year that I really understand what it means to be alive and to live in the moment. It’s the first time that I have an understanding of how fragile life truly is, how hard life can be at times, and therefore how important it is to stop and smell the roses during the good times. I thought I knew that at 21 or 30…but I didn’t."

Queen Bey finished her message by thanking her fans for their constant support over the years, as well as "every inspiring human who took the time to send me all the beautiful messages." "I’m grateful to everyone involved, especially, the fans, for the time and level of detail it took to organize such beautiful tributes," she concluded her message. "Most of y’all met me when I was 15, and we have grown up together. You bring soooo much joy into my life. I hope my art can continue to bring a little joy into yours. I Love You Deep Deep Deep Deep Deep."

We're not crying, you're crying!
