The nominations for the 58th Country Music Association (CMA) Awards were just announced—and fans are shocked. After Beyoncé’s iconic country album, “Cowboy Carter,” dropped this past spring, music fans of all different genres came together to celebrate “Texas Hold ‘Em” and others from her album. However, the CMA seemingly wasn’t impressed, and awarded “Cowboy Carter” a whopping zero nominations. Keep reading for more information.

Beyoncé Snubbed Of CMA Nominations

While Morgan Wallen boasts a cool seven nominations, Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton each received five, and rising star Lainey Wilson and new-to-the-country-scene Post Malone each were nomination for four different awards. Beyoncé, however, received none, despite her song "Texas Hold 'Em" reaching No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.

This isn't the first time Beyoncé has received a cool welcome from the country music world. Back in 2016, the 43-year-old performed her song "Daddy Lessons" with the Chicks (known then as the Dixie Chicks), and was immediately the recipient of online backlash.

This experience, however, helped "Cowboy Carter" into existence, according to the star. She described that her country album was "born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed... and it was very clear that I wasn't. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive."

The Beyhive Defends Their Queen B

Beyoncé's dedicated and loyal fans immediately came to her defense online. "The CMA's have once again deferred to those in the industry who prefer to deny Black artists the recognition they deserve, failing to nominate Beyoncé in a single category this year despite her record-breaking success with Texas Hold 'Em and #CowboyCarter," one person wrote on Twitter.

"No one in the history of having a #1 album AND song has been completely snubbed at an award show," another wrote. "IN ANY CATEGORY. Beyonce deserved better."

"Beyoncé left the door wide open for them to show their racism, and they did just that," agreed another.
