At least 60 women have accused Cosby of assault, and one is even suing him in a civil court case. And now the actor's legal team is responding to the allegations, continuing to maintain Cosby's innocence.
Cosby's attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, issued a statement in response to the civil suit: "With the reversal of Mr. Cosby’s conviction, his legal team, led by Jennifer Bonjean of the Bonjean Law Group, now turns its attention to the civil lawsuit brought by Gloria Allred on behalf of her client Judy Huth. "Since Mr. Cosby’s release from prison and the dismissal of all charges against him, Ms. Allred has been hard at work giving press statements about the alleged merits of her client’s 45-year-old allegations. Ms. Bonjean looks forward to fighting the case in the courthouse where it matters – rather than at press conferences on the courthouse stairs where it doesn’t."
Notable attorney Gloria Allred is representing 33 women who accused Cosby of misconduct. She is proceeding with the civil trial in Los Angeles County.
One of the women Allred represents alleges that Cosby abused her while at the Playboy Mansion 45 years ago. The accuser was a child at the time of the alleged incident.
A status hearing will take place on August 13, where Cosby's lawyers hope to "get to the business of vindicating once and for all."
However, Allred has said that Cosby "is not home free" following his release from prison.
