Many things are being dug up in Blake Lively‘s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni – including the allegations that the It Ends With Us director “fat-shamed” her, according to TMZ, following the birth of her fourth child.
According to reports, Lively’s lawsuit claims that Baldoni “cried” in her trailer after pictures of the Gossip Girl alum on the set of the movie were leaked, because he felt she didn’t look “hot” in them. Keep reading for more information.
Blake Lively’s Lawsuit Alleges That Justin Baldoni Didn’t Think She Was ‘Hot’ Enough In Leaked ‘It Ends With Us’ Pap Pics
According to the Daily Mail, the Age of Adaline actress’s lawsuit claims that Baldoni was “overly concerned” about her appearance at the start of filming.
Filming reportedly began in May 2023, just a few months after she had given birth to her and Ryan Reynolds‘ fourth child. And Baldoni reportedly struggled to cope after pap pictures from the movie set leaked to the press, as he claimed social media was concerned with Lively’s “unattractive” appearance.
“On the second day of filming, for example, Mr. Baldoni made the rest of the cast and crew wait for hours while he cried in Ms. Lively’s dressing room, claiming social media commentators were saying that Ms. Lively looked old and unattractive based on paparazzi photos from the set,” the filing reportedly alleges.
Blake Lively's Lawsuit Alleges Justin Baldoni Regularly Criticized Her 'Body And Weight'
As per the lawsuit, the Green Lantern actress alleged that the Jane The Virgin star "routinely degraded" her, and allegedly found "back-channel ways of criticizing her body and weight."
Baldoni also reportedly contacted Lively's personal trainer to ask them to help her lose weight in "two weeks," telling them it was because he was worried about having to lift her in an upcoming scene. TMZ reports that Baldoni was only interested in Lively's weight because he had a back injury, and wanted to train properly to avoid further injury. However, Lively said that there was no such scene in the script.
The Rhythm Section actress went on to claim that she wasn't that concerned about looking "hot" while filming certain scenes in the movie, and claimed that she told him that she thought "she should look authentic in the scenes depicted in the photos, which were just after her character had been abused by her fictional husband, rather than 'hot.'"
Reddit Comments
As expected, Lively's lawsuit has divided the internet. While some fans are siding with the A Simple Favor actress, many others believe her PR team is working overtime trying to do damage control, following the backlash she has received this year due to the "tone-deaf" promotion of the movie, as well as resurfaced interviews of her seemingly fat-shaming a reporter.
"The PR push is sooooo transparent," wrote one Reddit user, as a second quipped: "Hope she didn't injure her back with that stretch." A third added: "Blake replying, 'congrats on your bump!' is a clear example of body shaming, not Justin training to carry her bec. of his back issues."
"It seems to me like she is trying to establish another instance of Blake lively+ body shaming, to hide this interview," wrote another Redditor, in reference to the resurfaced interview that shows Lively fat-shaming the interviewer. "Videos of her being rude to interviewers are making the rounds, PR had to step in," echoed another user. "Ohhh so when people google 'Blake Lively fat shame' it's gonna be his name that pops up. It feels a bit basic but it is her," speculated another.
"He probably also knows exactly how much he should and shouldn't be lifting, which is why he asked her weight. Also, looks like he asked how he could train to lift her, not how she could lose weight to accommodate him," someone else noted, which many other Reddit users agreed with.
"Exactly. It wasn't about her weight at all, it was clearly about both of their mutual safety. Damn, what a menace that guy is, trying to maintain a safe work place and prevent delays to the production schedule," someone replied, in agreement.
