Hollywood power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds posed for a snuggly Instagram selfie to prove they’re still going strong despite all their current legal drama, and it did not go over very well on the internet.
While fans of Lively and Reynolds might’ve thought the selfie was adorable, others disagreed and found it out of touch, given the claims made against them in recent lawsuits.
The It Ends With Us lead is receiving a lot of heat since entering a legal battle with the film’s director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.
Now, the selfie on her Instagram story seems to be her way of letting the world know that her man is by her side, even if people aren’t pleased with their actions off-screen. Here’s everything you need to know:

Fans slam Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for smiling through the drama
The acting duo took a smiley selfie, which Lively posted to her Instagram story on Sunday, March 16th. She chose to pair the photo with The Rolling Stones' hit, "Wild Horses," a ballad about love and devotion. The actress is seen resting her head on her husband's shoulder, flashing a happy, toothy grin while he displays a soft smile.
When People Magazine reposted the photo onto their Instagram account, several angry users took to the comments section to display their frustration at the couple's snapshot. One commenter called the pair "shameless," and another accused them of being "so self-unaware."
Other Instagram users seemed unsure how both of them would be able to keep up their successful careers due to all the information being used against them in court.

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's legal battle continues
In December 2024, the internet was shocked when it became public that the Gossip Girl alum filed a complaint, which was eventually turned into a lawsuit against Baldoni. She alleged that he caused her emotional distress, amongst other things, during their time filming their dramatic movie, It Ends With Us.
Since then, Baldoni has retaliated, filing his own lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds, accusing them of defamation and extortion. As the lawsuits unraveled, evidence was released to the public that placed the film's cast in hot water.
The A-Listers are due to go to trial next year, and fans are waiting with bated breath to uncover the truth after nearly every figure involved was scrutinized online.

Blake Lively continues to work
Despite all of the chaos following It Ends With Us and negative comments from fans, Lively is continuing to work as a fashionable actress in Hollywood and promote her latest projects. One is a three-part nature documentary series, Secrets of the Penguins, which she narrated for National Geographic.
Additionally, she was recently photographed on the red carpet at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival for the premiere of Another Simple Favor in Austin, Texas. The film will be her first acting venture following her and her husband's legal issues.
How might fans react to her next performance? Based on her latest selfie's reception, we're not sure if they'll be submitting rave reviews.
