Blake Shelton has made no secret of the fact that he is suffering from burnout in terms of his professional career, having announced that he won’t be returning to The Voice after season 23, which premieres next month, and also confirming that he will be scaling back his touring, breaking fans’ hearts in the process. But insiders are reportedly hinting that he is suffering from burnout in his marriage to fellow The Voice coach Gwen Stefani too, even going as far as suggesting that the couple *could* be falling out of love. Say it ain’t so!
Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani's 'Spark' Allegedly Started Disappearing After Marriage
"When they started dating, they couldn't keep their hands off each other," a friend of Gwen, 53, and Blake, 46, reportedly told RadarOnline, before going on to say that "the spark started disappearing" after they tied the knot in 2021.
"It seems like they argue constantly now — they've even slept in separate bedrooms after particularly bad fights," the insider continued, adding, "Friends are worried Gwen and Blake are falling out of love."
This appeared to be evident at NASCAR's Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum in Los Angeles on February 5th, as while the "Rich Girl" singer was all smiles on Instagram, it was an entirely different story in real life, as one observer told RadarOnline that Gwen and Blake "looked miserable." "Things just seemed really tense," the observer added.
Tensions On 'The Voice'
Is working with your spouse a good idea? Although fans adored seeing the married couple on The Voice together – after all, it's where they met back in 2014 and fell in love! – the insider also suggested that working together on the show wasn’t without its problems, as the "Hollaback Girl" singer was allegedly jealous of the attention her husband was getting.
The couple "played it sweet for the cameras when they were both coaches, but behind the scenes, there was sometimes a clash of egos," the source continued. "He would often get all the attention. And that would hit a nerve — she was jealous."
Blake Shelton Allegedly Quit 'The Voice' To Save His Marriage
A few months ago, another insider hinted that part of the reason the "God's Country" singer quit the singing competition after 23 seasons was for the sake of his marriage – although it wasn’t due to the alleged jealousy, it was more to do with his jam-packed schedule not allowing him to spend as much time with his family as he wanted!
"Gwen wants him to spend more time with her, so they can ensure a happy future together," an insider previously told RadarOnline. Blake also referenced the importance of his family in his People cover interview in December 2022, suggesting that quitting The Voice would allow him to spend more time with his family, which includes the former No Doubt singer and his three stepsons, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, whom Gwen shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
