As one of the cutest celebrity couples out there, Blake Shelton, 45, and Gwen Stefani, 52, often warm our hearts with inside glimpses of their blended family via their social media accounts.
Stefani shares three sons with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale—Kingston, 15, Zuma, 14 and Apollo, 7—and often posts sweet photos with them and Shelton to her Instagram. It looks like he’s a great stepdad, and the country singer just opened up to Sounds Like Nashville about raising Stefani’s kids and one of their recent bonding moments. Aww!
While speaking to the publication for its January 12th cover story, Shelton talked about he and Stefani’s first Thanksgiving together as husband and wife with her sons.

While balancing coaching on The Voice and performing at the CMA Awards, Shelton also wanted to help the three boys prepare a “bacon-wrapped turkey,” and figured out how to assist with a recipe they found. (The story gets cuter, by the way!) “It’s happening,” he told the publication. “There’s no talking them out of it, based on the picture that they saw, which was the greatest picture you’ve ever seen.”
Before talking about this specific moment, Blake also reflected on his own step dad role model and who he wants to emulate for Stefani’s children. “I don’t know if it’s as hard, or harder, or not as hard as being an actual, biological parent, you know?” he told KFROG’s The Ride with Kimo & Heather.
“I have a stepfather in my life who’s one of my heroes,” he continued. “I love my stepfather and I look up to him and he’s like a father to me, so I have a good inspiration in my life for how to do this and the kind of stepdad I want to be. And I take it very serious.”

Shelton and Stefani met (very memorably) on The Voice as coaches in 2014, when both were in the midst of high-profile divorces. As Stefani split from Rossdale and Shelton from Miranda Lambert, the two leaned on each other firstly as friends, and then to fans’ delight, their relationship turned into something more.
The two officially announced that they were a couple in autumn of 2015, got married in the summer of 2021 and continue to share wholesome family updates on their Instagrams.
