1. Ginger tea

Whether you're looking for a soothing hot beverage, want to bring some balance to your gut bacteria, or both, making yourself some ginger tea is one of the best ways to go. This drink is packed with benefits, especially when it comes to digestion. Wen explains that those benefits are largely thanks to an active compound called gingerol, which "helps with gastrointestinal issues and reduces bloating."

In addition to aiding digestion, ginger tea can help you reach your weight loss goals in a few other ways. "Ginger has also been shown to regulate hormones and reduce hunger, which can help aid weight loss," Wen explains. Plus, it's delicious.

2. Peppermint tea

Peppermint tea is another tea that can soothe your digestive system in order to help you find bloating relief. "Peppermint tea is known to relax the muscles that line the walls of the
stomach and intestines which relieves gas and bloating while aiding digestion," Wen explains.

Peppermint tea may also aid weight loss by curbing cravings, reducing appetite, and possibly even boosting your metabolism. All in all, it's a great choice for your overall health.

3. Lemon water

If tea isn't your thing, consider sipping on some simple lemon water. This beverage can also promote healthy digestion and weight loss, thanks to the gut-healthy properties of lemon. Both the vitamin C content and acidity of this fruit help to stimulate digestion and reduce bloating.

On top of this, Wen points out that lemon water can help you reach your weight loss goals by reducing cravings. She says this is thanks to the pectin fiber. Of course, water in general is always one of the best things you can drink for your overall health—and adding lemon to the mix is an excellent choice. 

Ultimately, swapping out unhealthy, processed beverages for these options can do wonders for your body. "Not only are these beverages incredibly beneficial to our daily health routine, but they can also replace sugary drinks like juices or sodas if you find yourself craving those flavors!" Wen concludes.
