Keep reading for more information.
Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Will Both Be At The Venice Film Festival
The red carpet at the Venice Film Festival, taking place between Wednesday, August 28th and Saturday, September 7th, will see a lot of famous names from around the world, including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The former will be promoting his new movie Wolfs alongside longtime friend George Clooney, and the latter will be promoting her new film Maria, in which she stars as opera legend Maria Callas.
While they've managed to steer clear of one another since their high-profile split 8 years ago, this event is unavoidable for either of them, and they're even staying in the same hotel, the luxurious Cipriani. While the likelihood of them interacting is low, the spotlight will certainly be on them, as their messy court battles continue to make headlines.
Brangelina's Bitter Divorce War Continues
The most recent lawsuits between the two Mr. & Mrs. Smith main characters is over their French winery, Château Miraval, which is also the site of their 2014 marriage. The most recent claim from the Jolie team brought up the disastrous private plan ride from 2016, when Angelina claimed that Brad physically abused her.
According to an FBI report, Brad Pitt allegedly grabbed Jolie and shook her, pushed her into a wall and punched the ceiling. Jolie herself said that Pitt behaved like a "monster" in front of their six children, and there are reports of Pitt getting "physical" with their son, Maddox, who was 15 at the time. Sources close to Pitt responded by saying that the accusations were "a combination of exaggerations and lies."
Then, a new court filing from Jolie's lawyers says that the actress is claiming that her ex-husband was abusive toward her prior to the 2016 plane ride incident. "While Pitt's history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family's September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him," the court filing reads.
