Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s bitter court fights have reportedly separated their children from the Bullet Train actor’s parents, who once devoted themselves to their grandchildren, sources say.
For the past eight years, his parents, William Pitt and Jane Pitt had to endure a painful absence of connection, according to insiders who recently spoke to The Daily Mail.
“Brad Pitt’s parents have not been able to see their beloved grandchildren for around eight years amid the ongoing divorce and legal battle between Brad and Angelina,” a tipster dished to the outlet.
Brad Pitt's Parents Are Said To Be 'Heartbroken' Amid His Legal Battles With Angelina Jolie And Fear They Will 'Never Be Able' To See Their Grandkids
The World War Z star, 60, and Girl, Interrupted actress, 49, share six children: Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. Pitt has allegedly been distanced from his children ever since a dramatic altercation on his and Jolie's private plane in 2016 led to her seeking a divorce.
Before Pitt's marriage ended, his parents were frequently involved in their grandchildren's lives, often seen spending meaningful moments together. The source added: "Prior to the separation, they were a part of the kids’ lives and they all spent a lot of time together. It is just heartbreaking to see that this is no longer the case."
"It is one thing for the kids to not see their father, but for Jane and Bill to not have any contact with their precious grandkids is sad," the insider went on. "They are in their 80s and to think that they would never be able to spend time with the kids again is just unbelievable." The publication noted that the last time Pitt's father William (Bill), 83, and mother Jane, 84, were last publicly photographed with their grandchildren was at the premiere of Jolie's 2014 film, Unbroken.
Pitt brought his children and parents to the Hollywood premiere instead of his then-wife Jolie, who was home with chickenpox. At the time, Pitt's mother told reporters: "We're so very proud of Angie. This means so much to our family, especially our grandchildren. We love her dearly."
In the past, Jolie had spoken warmly about Pitt's parents, appreciating how they had welcomed her adopted children. "When I first met them I came in with two adopted children from other countries and I didn't know how they were going to be," Jolie said. The Lara Croft star added: "But they are equally loving with them."
In 2016, Jolie initiated divorce proceedings, ending their two-year marriage and apparently fracturing family ties. In 2019, three years later, Brangelina were legally recognized as single. Despite this, they remain entangled in a continuous dispute over their Chateau Miraval property.
