Britney Spears’ battle to end her conservatorship keeps getting more dramatic. Now, her court-appointed co-conservator is speaking out against her father, Jamie Spears.

The 39-year-old pop star has been fighting to free herself from her father, who has been her conservator for over a decade. And now it seems that Britney is not alone in her fight. Jodi Montgomery, who has been Britney’s co-conservator since 2019, claims that she is the only one working to help the celeb reach her goal of freedom.

Montgomery filed new documents this week, stating that Jamie is not making decisions for Britney according to Britney's wishes, as a conservator is meant to do. She also condemns Jamie for blaming her for the mistreatment Britney experienced in the conservatorship.

"It is ironic that Mr. Spears now wants the conservatorship to 'reflect her wishes' since it is no secret that Ms. Spears has wished her father out of her life for years," Montgomery stated.

She also claims that Jamie has used more than $2 million of Britney's money to defend himself in order to remain in control of her estate.

Montgomery's documents also state that she and Jamie "should be working as a team to ensure that Ms. Spears' best interests are being met, that she is on a path to recovery and termination of her conservatorship, and that she is living her best life possible. Instead, Mr. Spears has decided it is time to start the finger-pointing and media attacks."

Montgomery also filed a petition to have a third-party advocate assist Britney in selecting her own lawyer for this battle to end the conservatorship.

She explained, "After 13 years of court-appointed counsel, she wants to select her own counsel. At the hearing on June 23, 2021, Ms. Spears addressed the Court and repeatedly expressed her desire to select her own counsel, without an additional medical evaluation."
