According to CBS, Britney's attorney revealed that the singer has explained to him on "many occasions" that she fears her father.
That's not all. Ingham also said that Britney does not want to perform while her father retains his role in her conservatorship.
According to the the Associated Press, He explained, "My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father. She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career."
With that in mind, Britney is fighting for some changes to her current legal situation.
Ingham told the judge, "It's in my client's best interest to start with a clean slate."
Spears' interests are in direct opposition to her father's. Recent court documents state that her father is now trying "to retain full functional control of her assets, books and records in the face of Britney's objections."
The singer also cited an example that her father was keeping her out of the loop when it came to business matters, explaining that he had not informed her when her manager resigned and he appointed someone else to the job.
Ingham plans to file a motion to remove Britney's father from the conservatorship, but a date has not been set yet.
