Britney Spears has been dominating the headlines over the past few days, as fans are showing huge concern for her mental health following some “disturbing” incidents at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 2nd.
According to TMZ, an unknown person claimed that a “woman matching Britney’s description was harassing and threatening hotel employees and guests.” Police officers reportedly showed up shortly after 10:30 PM on Wednesday after receiving calls of a “disturbance,” but left after spotting no signs of trouble. However, things seemed to take a turn for the worse a few hours later, as paramedics were reportedly called in the early hours of Thursday morning after the 42-year-old The Woman in Me author had allegedly gotten into a physical altercation with her on/off boyfriend Paul Soliz. She appeared to have hurt her leg, but it’s currently unknown how it happened or if it was related to the alleged altercation.
What Happened To Britney Spears At Chateau Marmont?
TMZ wrote that their sources claimed that “Britney was screaming and ‘out of control’ in the hallway of her suite, and several guests thought she was having a mental breakdown.” The pub went on to say that paramedics were called to tend to an “injured person,” and reportedly arrived around 12:40 AM.
Pap pictures and videos show the Crossroads actress walking out of the hotel barefoot and clutching a pillow, with a blanket wrapped around her. The pub reported that she didn’t get into the ambulance and left the hotel with her security, leaving her on/off boyfriend behind.
An eyewitness reportedly told Entertainment Tonight: “Britney came out with Paul Richard Soliz and some others. Someone gave her a blanket to throw over and she had a pillow covering her front. She took a few steps and turned around and went back, not getting into the stretcher they had brought out.” Two insiders have since confirmed that the “Piece of Me” singer is “safe and at home,” as per NBC News.
Britney Spears Addresses Chateau Marmont Incident, Calls Reports 'Fake'
The mom-of-two took to her Instagram following the incident to address what had happened in various different posts – some of which have since been deleted – and essentially tried to tell fans that there was very little truth in what was being reported.
"Just to let people know... the news is fake!!!" the "Gimme More" singer wrote on social media, adding: "I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger every day!!!" She went on to address her injury, writing: "I also twisted my ankle last night and paramedics showed up at my door illegally. They never came in my room but I felt completely harassed. I'm moving to Boston."

In another post, the "Toxic" hitmaker posted a short video showing her swollen ankle, with the caption: "I really twisted my ankle last night... It's so bad... [Expletive] idiot here tries to do a leap here in the living room at the Chateau and I fell, embarrassed myself, and that's it. Paramedics came to my door, illegally, and of course caused this scene, which was so unnecessary, when all it needed was ice. But yeah, it is actually pretty bad."
In a May 3rd post, she tried to blame her mom Lynne Spears for the drama caused following the incident. She wrote: "I know my mom was involved! I haven't talked to her in 6 months and she called right after it happened before the news being out! I was set up just like she did way back when! I wish I had grandparents! I can't stand her!"

Fans Show Concern On Social Media
Despite Britney's social media message trying to reassure fans that all is well – minus the ankle injury – her fans didn't seem to be buying it, and took to social media to voice their concerns for the singer.
"That poor sad woman needs to be cared for, but by whom?" asked one fan on a TMZ X post featuring some pictures from the incident. "Legitimately concerned for her," wrote another fan, as another referenced her 2007 breakdown and asked: "Is this 2007 again?"
"She's out of control," wrote another fan, as someone else seemed to think that she should be under conservatorship again for her own protection, writing: "Oh no! I feel so bad for her, who is this new boyfriend she has so quick. The drinking, drugging fights can harm her! Britney needs to be under the same protection she had. If this is what fame does to you, no thanks!"
"I really feel for Brit," wrote another concerned fan. "Would love to see her get her life together. It's so sad to watch. Always been a huge fan and it just worries me. Wish she had good people around her that she can trust," they added. Someone else begged: "Leave her alone."
