Britney Spears’ relationship with her younger sister Jamie Lynn is on rocky ground amid the singer’s conservatorship battle, and the 39-year-old is no longer holding back. In her initial testimony, Britney made the groundbreaking claim that she wished to sue her family over their exploitation of her conservatorship, but it was initially unclear which members were included in her statement. However, after Jamie Lynn spoke out on social media, it quickly became evident that the sisters are no longer as close as they once were.
Speaking in her testimony to have the 13-year-long conservatorship thrown out, Spears said, “I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you.” She then continued, “It's not fair they're telling me lies about me openly. Even my family. They do interviews to anyone they want on news stations, my own family doing interviews and talking about the situation and making me feel so stupid. And I can't say one thing. And my own people say I can't say anything.”
Spears then took to social media on July 17 to make another pointed comment about her family, coming after her sister Jamie Lynn spoke out on Instagram about how she supported her sister unconditionally earlier this month. Sharing an image that read, “Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask,” Britney wrote in the caption, “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that !!!! How dare the people you love the most say anything at all … did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME !!!??? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning ????”
She continued, “Again … NO … so if you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!! If you’re gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny …. and have a good day !!!!! PS if you’re reading this today and you can relate …. I’m sorry because I know what it’s like … and I send you my love !!!!”
In another post regarding her dancing videos, Britney added, “I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply !!!!” The 39-year-old’s posts on social media come just weeks after Jamie Lynn Spears took to Instagram to publicly announce that she supported her sister amidst the conservatorship battle, claiming that she never profited from the singer's hardships. “I am only her sister who is only concerned about her happiness,” she said in a recent Instagram live. However, it seems that Britney disagrees. The conservatorship battle continues with Britney recently acquiring her own representation in the form of attorney Matthew Rosengart, after giving another powerhouse testimony last Wednesday.
