Britney Spears Responds To Her Sons’ Bombshell Interview With A Heartbreaking Open Letter On Instagram
September 3, 2022 by Justine Schwartz
On Friday, Daily Mail finally released their bombshell interview with Kevin Federline and sons, Jayden James, 15, and Sean Preston, 16, about their decision not to see mom, Britney Spears in “months.” And not only is it quite the doozy and filled with bombshells (more on that, below), but Britney has already responded with a lengthy Instagram post—and she is not holding back! Ironically, the boys say it’s her unhinged social media posts that are at the root of the family split, but Britney defends her decision to “express” herself there, and goes on to slam her ex, her parents and even her own sons in the heartfelt and at times angry post.
She’s been talking the “trauma” she has about the rift, but this candid open letter (filled with typical Britney typos and all caps style) goes even further. She even takes a dig at Federline for being too lazy to mow the lawn! It truly has it all.
Daily Mail Interview BombshellsDaily Mail has been teasing their “worldwide exclusive” interview with the Federline boys and their dad, 44, on News ITV since early August. The televised interview was finally released last night, and features a 1-on-1 interview with the elder Federline and filmmaker Daphne Barak, as well as a sit down with all three of them, with son Jayden doing most of the talking. Jayden gives the interviewer his never-before-heard take on the highly publicized recent events in Britney’s life, from her Instagram posts, to her “fairytale wedding” to longtime beau actor Sam Asghari, and her public feud and ongoing legal battle with her father and conservator, Jamie Spears.
Why They Didn’t Attend Her WeddingJayden explains the real reason why he and Sean Preston, 16, didn’t reveal her star-studded wedding to 28-year-old Asghari.
“At the time it just wasn’t a good time to go. I’m not saying that I’m not happy for her. I’m really happy for them, but she didn’t invite the whole family, and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don’t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.”
Jayden is likely referring to the fact that none of Britney’s other family members, from her father Jamie, mother Lynn, sister Jamie-Lynn and brother Bryan attended her June wedding at home to Asghari.
Sympathy For Jamie And Lynn SpearsJayden explains that while he sees how his mother was over-worker during her career and conservatorship, he also expresses sympathy for how his grandparents are being portrayed by the #FreeBritney movement and aftermath. Ouch, this one has got to sting for Britney.
“At first he was just trying to be like any father, letting [his] daughter pursue her dream of becoming a superstar, but I did think maybe the conservatorship went on too long,” he explains. Probably why my mom was very angry about the whole situation that she was working for too long—I personally think she was. She should have taken a break and relaxed,,”
But his grandfather “doesn’t deserve all the hatred he is getting,” he argues. He also says he doesn’t think that side of family is necessarily “manipulative.”
“They are not bad people. They know what we are going through now. They want our future to be what we want it to be,” Jayden says. “They just want to watch over us. Memaw and Uncle Bryan are a good part of our lives. They have taught me how to deal with things.”
Instagram Drove Them ApartJayden revealed that his older brother is not a fan of the camera, and asked their mom not to post pictures of him online which she did anyway. “It didn’t go well.”
He acknowledged that posting on Instagram “helps” his mother. “So if that’s what she wants to do that’s what she wants to do, I’m not going to hate her for that. At the same time, she should come to the realization of whatever it is that stops her loving her family.”
He continued,”It’s almost like she has to post something on Instagram to get some attention. This has gone on for years and years and years and there’s a high chance that this will never stop but I’m hoping for me that she will stop.”
Britney’s ResponseBritney responded to the interview immediately after it aired to respond to the criticism lodged at her by her estranged sons.
Defending her sometimes scantily-clad Instagram posts, Britney write: “I hope my kids one day understand my reasoning of my play in water revealing myself as any woman would being held under blankets and surveillance and conservatorship!”
Slamming Her ExReferring to their father, Britney writes, “I helped your father, who hasn’t had a job in 15 years… I assume it is easier for you guys to not have someone check on you to make sure you are doing your homework. I am sure the standards of your dad smoking weed everyday benefits your daily life at 15 to partake in a very cool generation. I completely understand your need to live with your father as I had to play the perfect role for 15 years for absolutely nothing.” Zing!
“It’s horrible to see your dad be a hypocrite and say the media is horrible yet he has you talking about personal matters to them,” she continues. We couldn’t agree more.
Defending Her Career: ‘I Did That For You’“I’m so happy I was able to carry 4 tours, judge X Factor and way more. I did that for you and Preston.” ‘Nuff said!
“My love for my children has no boundaries and it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations of a mother and maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly. Maybe dear child you can explain to me why our family would do that to anyone.”
