Bruce Springsteen was arrested for DWI, reckless driving, and consuming alcohol in a closed area in November 2020. The “Born To Run” singer’s court date is set for Feb. 24 when he will appear by video conference before Magistrate Judge Anthony Mautone, according to Asbury Park Press.

The 71-year-old was originally charged at Gateway National Recreation Area on November 14.
The article explains, "A park ranger said in an affidavit attached to the violation notice that Springsteen looked glassy-eyed, failed a field sobriety test and refused to give a preliminary breath sample."
According to court papers, Springsteen told an officer that he had taken two shots of tequila over the course of 20 minutes. The singer reportedly blew .02 on the breathalyzer test, which is notably less than New Jersey's .08 legal limit.
However, the officer described the singer as smelling "strongly of alcohol." Additionally, the officer said that there was a "completely empty" bottle of Patron at the scene.
The officer's report adds that Springsteen was "visibly swaying back and forth" and "took 45 total steps during the walk and turn instead of the instructed 18" during a field sobriety test.
After news of Springsteen's arrest got out, Jeep paused their ad that features the singer, which originally premiered during the Super Bowl.
A company spokesperson explained the decision to CNBC: "It would be inappropriate for us to comment on the details of a matter we have only read about and we cannot substantiate. But it’s also right that we pause our Big Game commercial until the actual facts can be established. Its message of community and unity is as relevant as ever. As is the message that drinking and driving can never be condoned."
Despite Jeep making the decision to pull the ad, Springsteen still has it available on his Instagram profile. Watch it here:
