It takes a lot of physical fitness to be performing on stage in front of thousands at age 75, especially when the songs you’re performing are upbeat and fast like “Born to Run” and “Born in the USA.” Bruce Springsteen loves performing and isn’t quite ready to give it up, so he stays physically fit by following the One Meal A Day diet, or the OMAD diet. Bruce Springsteen's OMAD Diet

If you're an avid Bruce Springsteen fan, you may have heard the rumor that he really only eats one meal a day. Well, in a recent interview with The Times, the "Dancing in the Dark" singer admitted it's true.

When asked about his interesting eating habit, he replied, "Pretty much. I'll have a bit of fruit in the morning and then I'll have dinner. That has kept me lean and mean." We don't know about mean, but it's certainly kept him looking good while performing at age 75!

What Is The 'OMAD' Diet?

Bruce Springsteen, as famous as he is, didn't come up with the OMAD diet himself. the OMAD diet, or One Meal A Day diet, is a form of intermittent fasting, which is fasting for most of the day and only eating within a specific and usually short window of time. For Bruce, he eats most of his calories at dinnertime. This type of diet often creates a calorie deficit, which can help with weight loss or simply staying physically fit.

According to WebMD, there's many benefits to following this fasting diet: It may help you burn fat, it can improve your metabolism, you might feel more alert and energized, and it can help you lose weight.
