Burger King customers who were looking forward to the fast food chain’s new chicken sandwich will have to wait a little longer.
Insiders just revealed that the Miami-based chain is experiencing delays around the anticipated launch. Say it ain’t so!

Those who were waiting on the edge of their seats for Burger King to throw down in the chicken sandwich wars will be disappointed to learn that the sandwich is being shelved due to supply shortages.
Here’s what you need to know: if you recall, Chew Boom reported that the restaurant was testing a crispy chicken sandwich in three styles: Original, Lettuce and Tomato, and Cheddar Bacon in select locations back in October of last year.

A YouTube food reviewer named RodrickEats got his hands at the new sandwich at his local Burger King location in Phoenix, Arizona.
Anticipation for the sandwich hitting national menus only grew, with the sandwich even gaining hype due to its resemblance to the Popeyes chicken sandwich that started the whole sandwich wars.

Then, a Burger King franchise owner told MLive in March that the rollout had experienced delays.
Jim MacDonald, who oversees 26 Burger King restaurants in Michigan told the pub that a pickle shortage had caused issues for the sandwich. The pickle is a must!
“It’s created a problem for us,” he said.
But, have no fear, foodies–MacDonald says the sandwiches will be worth the wait. “It’s such a good sandwich,” MacDonald said.
