Inflation is impacting just about everything we spend our money on these days, from streaming services to groceries. Additionally, although fast food is typically known for being a cheaper option, even your favorite drive-thru meal is likely going up in price—and some consumers have had enough. Burger King fans, in particular, have created some buzz online regarding changing prices. Read the latest below.

Burger King customers upset over high prices.

Fast food customers have been complaining about “shrinkflation” for some time now, and for one Reddit user, a $7 double cheeseburger meal at Burger King was the last straw. They aired their grievances with a post in the Burger King subreddit titled “Done with BK.”

“Done with their ridiculous price increases and declining food quality,” the post reads. “I just wanted a small double cheeseburger meal, and was informed it was seven bucks! with no drink. They haven’t updated their prices yet on the menu board… I’ve been going to this BK for 23 years, I’m done.”

Commenters commiserated. “Member when whoppers were 2 for 5$? I member,” one wrote.

“All fast food is way more expensive than it was before inflation kicked in,” someone noted.

One commenter chimed in on the declining quality of the food. “BK is like an abusive relationship I keep going back to. I ate BK growing up- too much perhaps, but to see what it’s become now just depresses me and literally makes me sick. The chicken fries are good when fresh but the rest of it is mediocre and almost flavorless,” they wrote.

Although some people offered some advice, such as opting for coupons, using the app, or ordering items individually rather than getting a meal without a drink, there's no denying that prices are on the upswing all around us.

Fast food restaurants aren't the only ones catching flack for raising prices. Take streaming services, for example. Netflix recently fell out of favor with subscribers by getting rid of their basic plan, and they're likely to raise prices even more.

Is there an end in sight to these exorbitant prices on all of our favorite things? We can only hope. But, hey, at least the Costco hot dog combo is here to stay.
