Burger King just announced a new loyalty program!

The “Royal Perks” program rivals that of fellow chain restaurants such as Starbucks and McDonalds as the food places struggle to keep up with the new landscape of online ordering amid the Covid-19 pandemic. This is huge!

The Florida-based company announced last week that it is piloting the app-based loyalty program in key markets.

“The stakes are high around a guest in participating in your loyalty program, so we see that and we want to make it worthwhile,” and not have guests burn points on their orders daily, Ellie Doty, Burger King’s chief marketing officer told Yahoo Finance.

"This is a new chapter of that a new digital format of that [birthdays]. It just makes sense to us that we have always been celebratory, we've always been a place where you have it your way. It's important to us to go above and beyond the usual perks on your birthday to perks all month long,” Doty told the publication.

The test program is now available in Los Angeles, Long Island, Miami, New Jersey and New York City.

How does it work? Loyalty members will earn points, called "crowns," for every dollar spent on the app. They can then use those crowns to place their next order.

Additionally, daily perks like upsizing drinks, fries, or hash browns for free, and birthday perks, will also be available. We can't wait!
