If you have an Android, you’re in luck: a new tool is reportedly being built that would provide every Android user with a button that prevents spam from eating up storage space.

All of those cold text messages you receive from various companies and individuals that are annoying, but also make you wonder if you should be responding to them? Consider these a thing of the past if Android’s new button becomes a reality. Here are the exciting details you need to know.

How It Was Detected

Fans of Google were able to detect a line in the data for v20241125_04 beta for Google Messages. Once the code was spotted it was revealed that the tool is likely being built for its next beta update.

What It Will Prevent

The button could be an excellent new feature for Android users, especially those who find their storage space is always lacking and nothing they can do makes up for it. The “Stop” button would allow users to unsubscribe from RCS Business Messages, which a service that is used to send out mass marketing texts. When you receive these, the button would pop up and give you the option of unsubscribing. No more need to individually block each sender or text back to unsubscribe.

If you ever feel like you’re missing out on great marketing, you will be able to text “Start” for free and have your phone number placed back on the marketing list.

Perhaps one of the best parts about this button is that if a sender is unknown or is sending you a suspicious link, the new service will let you know about that and potentially protect you from scams and viruses.

Faithful Android users: hang on just a little longer and you may benefit from this fantastic new feature.
